The Trauma Support Model (14 & 15 January)
Details:
- CPD: 3 Points for Social Workers & Social Auxiliary Workers
- Time: 4 Hrs to Complete
- Presenter: Dr Louise Aucamp
This training session provides a comprehensive, attachment-informed framework for understanding children’s emotional and developmental needs and how these shape behaviour, regulation, and relationships across the lifespan. Grounded in attachment theory, the session explores how sensitive and responsive caregiving supports emotional regulation and secure attachment, the role of emotional needs such as love, security, praise, responsibility, and new experiences, and how unmet needs contribute to insecure or disorganised attachment patterns. The training further links theory to practice by examining attachment styles, internal working models, and their relevance for assessment, parental guidance, and therapeutic intervention, equipping practitioners with a relational lens to interpret children’s behaviour as communication of need and to respond in ways that promote safety, regulation, and resilience.
